And Back on the MEPC Website ... [incl. Juan Cole]

There’s no shortage (now) of coverage of Chas Freeman’s withdrawal from consideration to serve on the National Intelligence Council. In the United States, there’s the Washington Post editorial lambasting Freeman’s penchant for conspiracy on one hand, and the New York Timesacceptance of Freeman’s arguments as fact, on the other, and myriad stories in between. So what story does the Middle East Policy Council highlight on its website (under “Timely Articles” on “the Lobby”)?

This gem, from the Gulf News, entitled “U.S. falls prey to Israeli Tricks” (because, in the world of Chas Freeman, Juan Cole, Stephen Walt, and others, any Jew who works in public policy and happens to disagree with them is guilty of dual loyalty). But, at least the article notes that Freeman’s final rant wasn’t paranoid and delusional, but a “dignified statement [in which] he defended himself against the Israeli libels.”
