Norman Finkelstein vs. The Angry Arab

The anti-Israel movement’s love affair with former De Paul University professor Norman Finkelstein appears to be coming to an end, most likely due to his increasingly critical stance towards the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement (click here for the latest chapter).

Chief among his new opponents is California State University, Stanislaus political science professor As’ad AbuKhalil (aka The Angry Arab), with whom Finkelstein recently engaged in a heated public debate. AbuKhalil continues the feud at his own blog and, in the process, reminds us in no uncertain terms that, as he puts it, “I am categorically against the existence of the State of Israel.”

It looks like Finkelstein was onto something when he conceded last year that the goal of the BDS movement—of which AbuKhalil is a self-described “supporter, advocate, and even spokesperson"—is to “eliminate Israel.”
