Scholars at UPenn Condemn U.S.-Israel Friendship

Campus Watch Fellow Mitchell Bard reports on a University of Pennsylvania panel that celebrated the launch of professor Amy Kaplan’s book, Our American Israel: The Story of An Entangled Alliance. The panel was comprised exclusively of anti-Israel academics, who, in true echo chamber fashion, praised the book, while bashing Israel and the U.S. Bard’s article appears at the American Spectator.

A graduate student recorded and took notes at the event, which was held in a small room and attended by a crowd of approximately fifty people, mostly older faculty. The good news was that only about a half dozen students bothered to sit through the lunchtime recitation of anti-Israel tropes.

Leading off the discussion was Columbia’s Rashid Khalidi, a well-known Israel hater and former PLO spokesman, who lavished praise on Kaplan’s book.
