Below, a sampling of the Middle East Forum's accomplishments on several continents between August 2014 and July 2015:

Taking the Offensive against Terrorists

  • Supported Shurat HaDin, which won a $655.5 million judgment in a U.S. court against the Palestinian Authority, for its role in six terrorist attacks resulting in the deaths of American citizens.

Fighting Islamism in the West

  • Persuaded New York Life and Morgan Stanley not to sponsor future banquets of the terrorism-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), denying the Islamist group funds and legitimacy; and persuaded JP Morgan to end grants to Zaytuna College, founded and run by Islamists and offering a B.A. only in Islamic law and theology.
  • Islamist Money in Politics revealed the Islamist funding of Rep. Andrew Carson. Breitbart and the Daily Caller cited the Forum project when Nancy Pelosi assigned Carson to the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.
  • Supported Point de Bascule, which exposed as an Islamist a key advisor to Canada's version of the Department of Homeland Security. In response, the Canadian government ended its relationship with Hussein Hamdani.

Influencing Middle East Policy

  • Briefed staff of presidential candidates, including those of Hillary Clinton, Ted Cruz, and Marco Rubio.

Protecting Free Speech

  • Funded the legal case that culminated in the U.S. Federal Court of Appeals upholding a nearly $200,000 sanction penalty imposed on Iran's unofficial American lobby, the National Iranian American Council, known as NIAC.
  • Funded an appeal in France which overturned the criminal conviction of Christine Tasin, a retired school teacher, who had been fined and sentenced to jail after she attacked Islam and criticized some Islamic practices.

Exposing Bias in Middle East Studies

  • Worked with allies to educate Congress about anti-Western, anti-Israel and pro-Islamist bias in taxpayer-funded university Middle East studies public outreach programs. As a result, prominent members of Congress demanded reform and senior Department of Education officials had to take these complaints seriously. Also, taxpayer funding for Harvard and UCLA's biased Middle East programs came to an end.
  • MEF Fellow Jeffrey Herf helped lead the battle to defeat anti-Israel resolutions at the American Historical Association.
  • Supported Americans for Peace and Tolerance, which released a video exposing an anti-Israel workshop used in 28 U.S. high schools. In response, the school featured in the video said "there are no plans for this program to return."

Countering the Delegitimization of Israel

  • Supported NGO Monitor, which exposed the Swiss government's multi-million dollar funding of non-governmental organizations that demonize Israel and support boycott, divestment, and sanctions against Israel. As a result, 10 Swiss MPs condemned an anti-Israel event in Zurich sponsored by the Swiss Foreign Ministry.
