The Swedish society is in political and social turmoil. In Sweden’s train stations, one can constantly hear instructions called out in Arabic and Persian as chaos manifests itself in different ways. The migrants are in shock. They have come to a country where they thought there was a future and shelter. But what they find is authorities and agencies that are overstretched and panicked.
On October 21 of this year, I received an e-mail from officials in Malmö in which it stated that approximately 100 children migrate to Malmö, Sweden every day and the Swedish Migration Agency has only resources to register about 40 of them. What happens to the majority of these children and where they end up, nobody knows. No agency has the resources to find this out.
There is not sufficient housing. On October 9 of this year, an e-mail from officials in Malmö stated that 150 unaccompanied migrant children would start living in 11 classrooms in Örtagård elementary school in Malmö. The headmaster of this school sent a letter to the parents of the pupils, telling them that the school would now be home to unaccompanied migrant children, without telling the parents who made the decision for this arrangement or if the parents had any choice.
The chaos is reigning everywhere. In the city of Falun, Sweden with 37,000 inhabitants, the municipality has asked residents to open their homes to migrants. The idea is that people in Falun will admit migrants in their home and collect a rent from the migrants who will receive the money from the government’s “introduction benefits” program. What will happen if Swedes do not want to let foreign men who come from war zones into their homes, no one knows.
In many municipalities the authorities have been forced to call in retired teachers so the schools can operate. Between July 27 and September 20, 2015 Malmö’s elementary schools received 740 new students, who had migrated into Sweden, who did not know a word of Swedish. Naturally schools are affected negatively by such sudden pressures on their limited resources.
This chaotic condition will prevail in Sweden for several years to come. The Swedish Migration Agency announced in late October that for the next two years they will need $8 billion more dollars than previously estimated. This year, Sweden is expected to receive 140,000 to 190,000 asylum seekers. If the European Union members fail to cooperate, then it is expected that Sweden will receive more than 170,000 asylum seekers next year. The European Union’s failure is so disastrous that the Swedish Migration Agency believes that the situation now is similar to that if Sweden had a fictional land border with Turkey. Between Sweden and Turkey, there is no country that maintains any kind of border control that can stop migrants from coming to Sweden. Consequently, the three main groups that are coming to Sweden are Syrians, Afghans and Iraqis.
In this disastrous situation one would think that the Swedish government would now try to salvage the situation and establish control. But there is no willingness by the government to establish a restrictive immigration policy to control its borders. In an agreement that was struck on October 23rd the government and some of the opposition parties agreed that Sweden should give migrants temporary residence permits instead of permanent residence permits. But the deal also states that quota refugees, and unaccompanied children and families will continue to receive permanent residence permits. Additionally, everybody with temporary residence permits will get permanent residency permits after three years.
Temporary border controls were implemented starting November 12, but it is not certain if Sweden has the security resources to maintain border controls. The border controls are meant to stop the chaos. Sweden will still have a liberal migration policy compared to other European countries, which works as a pull-factor that draws migrants to Sweden.
The enormous costs of migration have forced the government to plan broad cutbacks for next year. All departments within the government will implement budget cuts so Sweden can manage migration costs. The cuts will affect the most vulnerable in the Swedish society. Finance Minister Magdalena Andersson has opened up for cutbacks in areas such as personal assistance for people with functional impairment and health insurance. Consequently, Swedes who have health problems will get less support so young healthy men from the Middle East can come to Sweden.
The only political party that actually opposes this madness, the Sweden Democrats, are being demonized by the liberal media in Sweden. The opinion editor of the Swedish media outlet Nyheter24, Teodor Stig-Matz, writes the following about the Sweden Democrats and their voters:
“Nevertheless, I often think that I would want to build walls around the small towns you live in and throw away the key. People say that we should meet your hatred with love, but I find it difficult to do anything other than be disgusted by you.”
“When you arrive in Sweden you will be registered as an asylum seeker and the municipalities in Sweden will be officially responsible for your care. You will be enrolled in a school and you will wait for the decision that we will make.”
Winter is coming and the migrants lack not only housing and jobs, but they also lack security. The insane immigration policy that created chaos in Sweden has led some Swedes to react violently. Several migrant accommodations have been victims of arson attacks which have resulted in the Migration Agency making information about planned migrant accommodations classified.
This creates even more fear in the community when Swedes have no idea where tens of thousands of migrants from war zones will be staying. Right now there are some barracks raised near my home. Are they migrant accommodations? There is no way I can answer that. In Sweden that is classified information now. This is another manifestation of the migration chaos in Sweden.
The unrest and instability that I predicted in my article that was published in FrontPage Magazine on September 24 of this year has already begun. We are seeing conflicts between Swedes and immigrants that manifests itself in violence. This is happening now in the beginning of a crisis that will last for several years. How big unrest Sweden will experience before this migration crisis is over, no one can say. Sweden is changing dramatically before our eyes.
The problems that arise in Sweden’s migrant crisis are so extensive that we can only guess how bad it will get. Asylum seekers in Sweden are now saying that they have seen ISIS members among the “refugees” who have come to Sweden. While these reports of ISIS presence among the migrants were coming in, Sweden still has no effective control of who is entering the country. In this way, Sweden’s liberal immigration policy is becoming a threat to the entire Western hemisphere.
The situation that has arisen is forcing the Swedish people to make a choice. Either the Swedes will keep the liberal migration policy that will lead to system failure, civil unrest and Swedes losing their social security, or the Swedes will select a restrictive immigration policy and try to save what is left of the Swedish society. Whatever way Sweden chooses to go, the damage is already done. When this migration crisis is over, the calm and prosperous Sweden we once knew will be gone, forever. Instead, we will see a Sweden that is facing social, economic, security and cultural problems with tens of thousands of unemployed migrants in the streets. After the crisis, the Swedish people will have to stand up more than ever for the Swedish culture and identity, for it will be severely challenged by the newly arrived migrants.
