Three days after Bayern Munich lifted Germany’s Bundesliga trophy, confusion surrounds whether a prank may have caused a rift within the team.
Bayern Munich clinched their 22nd Bundesliga title with a 3-0 win over Augsburg on Saturday, but their celebrations may have turned sour when Franck Ribery was targeted by his teammates.
Footage has emerged showing Ribery, who is a devout Muslim, racing around the pitch trying to avoid being soaked in beer by Jerome Boateng.
Ribery had reportedly told players to keep the alcohol - which is forbidden by his religion - away from him as they partied.
He was eventually cornered by two players, who poured large glasses of beer over his head.
While he looked as if he had taken it well at the time, there are now claims to the contrary on social media.
Ribery converted to Islam to marry his childhood sweetheart, but was later engulfed in controversy after having an affair with an underage prostitute.
Ribery confessed to having sex with the call girl, but denied he knew she was underage.
