A 37-year-old who described Arabs as ‘assf******' in a documentary film about anti-Islam campaigner Geert Wilders has been found not guilty of insulting Muslims by judges in Amsterdam.
The man was interviewed by the makers of documentary Geert Wilders, the Movie following the release of his anti-Islam film Fitna in 2010.
During the interview, the man said that Arabs are ‘fervent assfuckers’ who ‘fuck little boys’ and that this is ‘normal in their culture’. A lower court had already found the man not guilty but the public prosecution department took the case to appeal, saying he should be fined €500.
In its ruling the appeal court said the man had made his comments in the context of a debate because he had been interviewed ahead of an anti-Islam demonstration in Berlin. He had not, therefore, overstepped the bounds of free speech.
