Radicals and people at risk of being brainwashed by extremist views are being identified in WA under a plan designed to weed out radicalisation in the community.
Nine government agencies have formed an anti-radicalisation alliance led by WA Police in a bid to divert people away from violent extremism or rehabilitate those already radicalised.
But police refuse to say how many people have been reported and dealt with by the Countering Violent Extremism committee.
The intervention model — which has a co-ordinator and ties in with national efforts — is operational, but Police Minister Michelle Roberts says it continues to be further developed.
