MEF Chief Strategist Jim Hanson tells FOX News the report claiming minimal damage from the strike was likely politically motivated.
Transcript:
FOX: How important was it that we actually took action?
HANSON: I mean, talk is cheap. You know, all of those people (other Presidents) either were just talking about it and in the background were capitulating to Iran.
And some of them even sent plane loads of cash that helped pay for the nuclear program.
FOX: Barack Obama.
HANSON: And all of the weapons that were used to attack any number of the countries in the region, including the October 7th attack against Israel.
So President Trump taking action is a completely different situation. And that’s why he is now, once again, preeminent as the leader of the free world.
FOX: The president of Iran says we’re going to reinvigorate talks, so that’s an interesting development. Meanwhile, now there’s controversy over how much damage was actually done.
We don’t have anybody in there, but it didn’t stop the DIA from weighing in one of the 17 intelligence agencies yesterday in Washington. But the IAEA director, Rafael Grassi, joined Martha yesterday, and here’s what he says he knows. Watch.
GRASSI: The Iranian nuclear program has been set back significantly. It is clear that there is one Iran before June 13—nuclear Iran—and one now, and it’s night and day. It’s a new reality now. Iran has far less capabilities than it had in the past.
FOX: Jim, that’s the guy we should be listening to. Your thoughts.
HANSON: Yeah, it’s rare for me to find myself in agreement with the IAEA, but he’s speaking the truth. And you’ve got these anti-Trump journalists and their fellow travelers in the intelligence community who are just trying to drag down this tremendous accomplishment.
You know, there’s different types of intelligence. HUMINT is human intelligence. SIGINT is signals intelligence. This is RUMINT. It’s rumors intelligence.
And it’s just something they picked up that someone with a politically driven agenda wrote a garbage report and all of the leftist media ran with it.
It’s disgraceful in the front of something that was a tremendous accomplishment. Iran is not going to become a nuclear nation.
FOX: I can’t believe I’m interviewing Jim Hanson about an attack that finally took place against a nuclear program instead of speculating.
Jim, thanks so much.
HANSON: Good to be with you, Brian.
