MEF Director Gregg Roman

"[The Iran deal] has legitimized Iranian actions throughout the Middle East and the world [and], as President Obama said in an interview with Thomas Friedman right after the deal was passed, [served] to welcome them back into the family of nations.

A country that is responsible for providing the genocide of 300,000 Syrians. The country that’s responsible for the civil war in Yemen. The country that has led to Hezbollah rising in Beirut.

The country that has exclusively armed Shi’a militias responsible for death squads – not just killing American troops, but killing Sunnis and other members of Iraqi society. [The country] that has effectively destabilized the progress made by the surge after the Bush administration left office and the Obama administration came in, [that] has effectively wiped out American gains in that region over the last 10 years.”

Gregg Roman is the executive director of the Middle East Forum, previously directing the Community Relations Council of the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh. In 2014, the Jewish Telegraphic Agency named him one of the “ten most inspiring global Jewish leaders,” and he previously served as the political advisor to the deputy foreign minister of Israel and worked for the Israeli Ministry of Defense. A frequent speaker on Middle East affairs, Mr. Roman appears on international news channels such as Fox News, i24NEWS, Al-Jazeera, BBC World News, and Israel’s Channels 12 and 13. He studied national security and political communications at American University and the Interdisciplinary Center in Herzliya, and has contributed to The Hill, Newsweek, the Los Angeles Times, the Miami Herald, and the Jerusalem Post.
