PHILADELPHIA – September 22, 2026 – The Middle East Forum today launched MEF Translations, a set of seven language editions of its published analysis: Arabic (ar.meforum.org), Persian (fa.meforum.org), Hebrew (he.meforum.org), Kurdish in Sorani (ku.meforum.org), French (fr.meforum.org), German (de.meforum.org), and Spanish (es.meforum.org). The editions open at translations.meforum.org with 307 articles across the seven languages and add each new MEF-original piece within a day of its publication in English.
The editions carry the Forum’s own work: the Middle East Forum Observer, Focus on Western Islamism, the Middle East Quarterly, Campus Watch, Islamist Watch, the Dhimmitude Project, MEF Reports, and press releases. Every translated article links to its English original, which remains the text of record, and every page carries an address for reporting a translation error. The sites are open access, with no registration and no paywall.
The Forum’s analysts work in the region’s languages, and much of the material they document, from Turkish state media to Iranian regime economics to Gulf railway plans, has until now reached only English readers. The new editions put the same analysis in front of readers in Riyadh, Tehran, Jerusalem, Erbil, Paris, Berlin, and Madrid on the day it appears.
“The Middle East Forum writes about Tehran, Ankara, Erbil, and Gaza for readers in Washington. From today it also writes for readers in Tehran, Ankara, Erbil, and Gaza, in their own languages, on the same day,” said Gregg Roman, executive director of the Middle East Forum. “A finding that stays inside an English research file is a wasted finding. Seven languages is where we start.”
