Railway ad war spreads

The subway holy war has gone above ground.

Pro-Palestinian billboards have sprung up at 54 Metro-North stations — displaying a map of Arab areas they say have been “depopulated . . . and razed by Israel.”

Included is a quote attributed to Israeli military hero Moshe Dayan. “There is not one single place in this country that did not have a former Arab population,” it reads.

The billboards, which will stay up until Nov. 8, were bought by the Committee for Peace in Israel and Palestine, which is headed by retired Wall Street banker Henry Clifford, MTA officials said.

This latest collection comes on the heels of a controversial ad campaign in the city’s subways that described the enemies of Israel as “savage.”

The MTA tried to ban those ads, but a federal judge bought pro-Israel blogger Pamela Geller’s argument that to do so would violate her free-speech rights.

Geller now plans to run a response ad campaign showing the Twin Towers burning and a passage from the Koran that reads, “Soon shall we cast terror into the hearts of the unbelievers.”
