Muslim Council of Calgary denounces controversial website, anti-Semitic posts

The organization representing Calgary’s more than 80,000 Muslims has denounced anti-Semitic posts on a controversial website, whose associated Facebook page was no longer visible Thursday on the social media platform.

On Thursday, the Muslim Council of Calgary (MCC) further distanced itself from the Muslims in Calgary website, drawing anger for marking Saturday’s International Holocaust Remembrance Day by posting an 11-year-old article by American white supremacist David Duke titled “Why No Free Speech on the Holocaust?”

“The Muslim Council of Calgary strongly condemns all forms of anti-Semitism, direct and implicit, and considers it extremely harmful to building a society based upon mutual respect and human dignity,” read a statement issued by the council.
