A political majority in parliament would close borders to extremist preachers who spew jihad and call for the death of all homosexuals.
“It is completely insane that we allow these preachers of hate in,” Konservative spokesperson Mai Mercado told Metroxpress. “We need to stop it sooner rather than later; they must not be allowed into Denmark and preach death and destruction.”
France, England and Germany today reject certain religious extremists at the border, including several who are still allowed to visit Denmark.
Preacher says politicos are wrong
One such preacher is Anjem Choudary, who has openly called for sharia law in the Western world and is suspected of recruiting 150 young Muslims to holy war.
Choudary, who has been in Denmark three times, said that Danish politicians are on the wrong track.
“This will be a complete failure of your so-called democracy,” said Choudary. “Nations such as Denmark are fighting Muslims abroad with concepts like democracy and freedom of speech and travel. When you start to restrict the ability of freedom of expression in your own country, then you have already lost the war.”
Outside influence
Professor Mehdi Mozaffari from Aarhus University said that the primary aim of radical preachers is to influence young people.
Mozaffari told Metroxpress that imams and preachers from outside of the country carry more weight than someone from at home.
