A former Essex headteacher has been banned from teaching for life after allowing one of the London Bridge terrorists to try and radicalise young children during after-school classes.
Sophie Rahman was headteacher of Eton Community School – formerly known as Ad-Deen Primary School in Ilford - when Khuram Butt began to teach after-school classes in 2017 – and during that time attempted to radicalised young children by telling them among other things that 'the worst creatures are the Kuffar (non-believers)'.
A panel for the Department of Education said it was in "complete agreement" that Rahman left them potentially "vulnerable to grooming for radicalisation" and banned her for life.
Butt was connected to extremist organisation Al-Muhajiroun, had already appeared on the documentary The Jihadist Next Door and had a caution for violence.
