For the 11th straight year, the Islamic Center of America hosted a contingent of guests from the National Defense University last month.
The contingent with the school were all high ranking military officers from countries with diplomatic relations to the United States.
For the first time since the group has been coming to the Dearborn mosque, which is the largest of its kind in the United States, members questioned if it was a good idea.
Lebanon and Israel have been at war since the 1940s, and at least one of the soldiers that came on the trip was from Israel.
To make matters worse for those who didn't want the soldiers inside their religious sanctum, the Israeli soldier may have said something to fan the flames.
