The Executive of the Muslims in Belgium (EMB) on Wednesday condemned the attack perpetrated in Liège that claimed the lives of two policewomen and a 22-year-old man.
It also expressed its compassion for the victims' families.
"These dramatic events remind us once again of other events that marked the darkest moments of our history," the EMB said in a press release. "Whatever the assailant's motive at the time of this horrible act, it is important for our society to unite around its values, reject all violence and confirm the new co-existence as a common foundation. Polarisation would mean playing the extremists' game."
