For the first time since 2011, Germany will again begin the resettlement of refugees to Greece under the EU Dublin Regulation.
Migration Policy Minister Yiannis Mouzalas confirmed on German television that Greece will accept refugees who are currently in Germany and whose first entry into the EU was from Greece.
The regulation applies to all refugees entering the EU since March 2017.
The Dublin Regulation determines the EU Member State responsible to examine an application for asylum seekers seeking international protection. Usually, the responsible Member State will be the state through which the asylum seeker first entered the EU.
