A Birmingham University lecturer has warned that racism is at a 20 year high as Britain prepares to remember the 7/7 London bombings in which four suicide bombers killed 52 people and left 700 injured.
Dr Chris Allen said that "the shadow of the 7/7 attacks" which targeted commuters in the rush hour in the capital "is likely to remain for the foreseeable future".
The Social Policy Lecturer said: "As we approach the 10th anniversary of the 7/7 terror attacks, attention will rightly focus on the sheer horror of the unfolding events and the tragic loss of life.
