Mohammad Sarwar: Lock up the hate preachers

Muslim ex-MP Mohammad Sarwar last night called for new laws to lock up hate preachers like Anjem Choudary.

Mr Sarwar blasted Choudary over his vile comments on slain soldier Lee Rigby.

He said: “We need zero tolerance on anyone preaching hatred or condoning hatred. We should not allow this to happen.”

The call from the ex-Labour MP for Glasgow Govan came as Scotland Yard chief Cressida Dick said they were monitoring Choudary’s vile rants.

Choudary is also accused of radicalising Muslims and had links to Lee’s alleged killers Michael Adebolajo and Michael Adebowale.

Mr Sarwar added: “Anyone who condones the killers, there must be a provision in law to tackle them.”
