Student groups show support for Israel

Jewish groups on campuses in North Carolina are organizing to show their support for Israel.

At Duke and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Jewish students are training to be better advocates for the Jewish state.

The new activism comes in reaction to a petition now circulating at UNC that calls for divestment from Israel. University officials have also discovered a controversial Web site called Campus Watch, which lists the school among 22 universities it’s monitoring for anti-Israel bias.

Many Jewish students at both Duke and UNC said they have not experienced anti-Semitism.
