Pandering to Extremists, Ivy League-style [incl. Jytte Klausen]

Great column over on Open Page, the books blog of the Florida Center for the Literary Arts, on Yale University’s decision to remove the internationally controversial Danish cartoons of the Prophet Muhammed from a book entitled The Cartoons that Shook the World. Yes. That’s exactly as ridiculous as it sounds.

The book’s author, Jytte Klausen, is not particularly happy with the decision to excise the cartoons, either; she told Fox News she fought the decision “every step of the way.”

Our old pal Chauncey Mabe writes: “What’s the point of living in a free society if leading intellectual and cultural institutions don’t have the guts to exercise freedom of expression?”

Exactly.
