Of Zion and Lions [on Joseph Massad]

In the burgeoning to-do over allegations that a Columbia University student was discouraged from taking a class taught by controversial Professor Joseph Massad, David Fine’s report today in Tablet Magazine is a primary document: Fine has spoken to the student in question, who says—in her first interview—that her adviser, an impeccably credentialed Barnard professor, had a distinct impression that Massad’s class would be uncomfortable for her because she is Jewish.
