Grant to Help Schools Bolster Arabic Studies

Cholla Magnet High School and Safford Magnet Middle School have been awarded more than $58,000 to create or expand their Arabic language and culture programs.

The award is from the U.S. Department of Education.

The money will help create an Arabic program at Safford; allow more frequent and more advanced classes at Cholla; and increase both schools’ coordination with the University of Arizona’s Center for Middle Eastern Studies.
