Catholic Theological Union’s Scott Alexander Teaches About ‘Islamophobia,’ Not Muslim Hostility to Christians

Jihad Watch’s Robert Spencer points out that Chicago’s Catholic Theological Union is offering a course titled, “Islam, Muslims & Islamophobia: A Catholic Response.” It’s taught by Islamic studies professor Scott C. Alexander, who is also a member of the advisory board for the Saudi-funded Alwaleed Bin Talal Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding (ACMCU) at Georgetown University. ACMCU also houses the Bridge Initiative, which is dedicated to battling---you guessed it---"Islamophobia.”

Given that neither institution appears to be interested in examining the real stumbling block to Muslim-Christian relations, which isn’t “Islamophobia” but, rather, theologically-inspired Islamic hostility towards Christianity, Alexander’s academic proclivities are predictable.

Meanwhile, the real question, to quote Spencer, is, “Will there be a course at any Islamic theological school, teaching about Muslim hatred of Christians, ‘the most vile of created beings’ according to Qur’an 98:6?”
