UCLA student Omar Said, writing in the Daily Bruin, is aghast that in recent UCLA and CSU Fresno Army ROTC training exercises, mock enemy soldiers were dressed in "clothing commonly worn by civilians in Arab countries" and yelled "Allahu Akbar." Instead of acknowledging that the behavior of actual terrorists provides the basis for such drills, Said cites the Islamist group CAIR and quotes UCLA prof. Khaled Abou El Fadl: "That TV stereotype . . . has nothing to do with the reality in the military field."
