On February 24, Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) sent a letter to Education Secretary Betsy DeVos detailing abuses at the University of Arizona’s Center for Middle Eastern Studies (CMES) and urging the Department of Education to review how CMES “allocates its Title VI funding” to discern if it is “violating the spirit and/or letter of the law.” This was the third time in under a year that a member of Congress called on the Department to investigate a university’s use of grants awarded under Title VI of the Higher Education Act to support biased, anti-American, pro-boycott/divestment/sanctions (BDS) programs. Writing at The American Spectator on Saturday, Campus Watch director Winfield Myers places the latest letter in context and notes an important new weapon in the struggle against federally-funded bigotry:
