They [the American people] would be horrified, Hugh. They would be horrified. It would be like saying the strongest advocate for the Palestinians and the greatest critic of Israel in the United States was close to Obama. And you know something? He is, and he was and he is. And so friends of Israel are rightly horrified by this. -Stanley Kurtz, interview with Hugh Hewitt
Kurtz was referring to Rashid Khalidi, close friend of Barack Obama and Bill Ayers . Khalidi is the former spokesman for Original Terrorist, Nobel Prize winner, Yasser Arafat.
Following the traditional career trajectory of washed-out radicals, Khalidi went from terrorist advisor to academia as a professor at the University of Chicago. He eventually would take over from Edward Said the Middle East studies program at Columbia, described as a "bubbling cauldron of anti-Semitism."
Details are scant about Obama's time at Occidental College in California and Columbia University. We know that at Columbia, Obama studied under rabid anti-American, pro-terrorist Edward Said who was eventually discredited for making up his own fictional life story narrative that formed the foundation of his grievances against Israel.
There is no dispute that Obama and Khalidi have been friends for years. In 2003, Obama attended a party for Khalidi to celebrate his transfer to Columbia. The party was sponsored by the Arab American Action Network (AAAN), which had been founded by Khalidi and his wife. In an amazing coincidence in a long series of amazing coincidences, AAAN just happened to receive money from the Woods Fund, a Leftist organization. On the Woods Fund board: Obama and Ayers. Amazing! The truth is that Khalidi, Ayers, and Obama were practically best friends.
Ayers and his bride, Bernardine Dohrn, attended the Khalidi fete, and Obama had the special honor of heaping praise upon his good friend and America-hating terrorist supporter. All of which was captured on video for all to enjoy. The LA Times managed to obtain a copy of the video. Being principled journalists, they immediately buried it.
Obama's jihad against Israel began long before the most recent series of abominations.
Writing for Human Events, Gary Bauer describes Obama's attitude well:
"When Iran accelerates its nuclear weapons program, Obama, Biden and Hillary show infinite patience. They extend the hand of 'friendship' over and over, even when Ahmedinejad's response is to slap us in the face. But when Israel goes forward with authorizing new housing units for its own citizens in its own capital, suddenly the Obama administration declares diplomatic war."
The mad mullahs in Iran are free to build nukes; but, we must condemn Israel in the strongest possible language for planning to built a few houses on their own land:
"Cancel your newspaper if it refers to these housing units as a 'settlement.' The neighborhood, Ramat Shlomo, was established in 1995 and is entirely within the city of Jerusalem. As of a few years ago it had 18,000 residents, mostly Orthodox Jews. The idea that this neighborhood is somehow an impediment to peace talks is laughable. No other nation in the world runs its housing decisions by the Obama administration, but Israel is expected to do so. "
Democrats have been trying to sell Islamic terrorism as a real estate dispute for decades. Israel could agree to carve itself down to one city block and there would be no peace. Bauer is absolutely correct: "The homes are not the reason peace has been elusive in the Middle East. There is no peace because Israel's enemies refuse its right to exist at all. But that's the hard truth the administration pretends not to know."
If sending Joe Biden wasn't sufficient punishment for the Israeli leadership, Prime Minister Netanyahu had to endure a forty five minute harangue from Hillary Clinton. I have a mental image of the Prime Minister putting his phone on speaker and going about conducting legitimate business. The ACLU would never tolerate such tactics used on detainees. At least the water- boardee can choose to end the ordeal by agreeing to cooperate.
Following last June's elections, Iranians were understandably horrified by the new American president who has referred to the Ayatollah as Supreme Leader, a show of respect for the legitimacy of the barbaric regime. Barack Obama went so far as to send a letter to the Ayatollah Khameini weeks before Iran's June 12th election. Obama was pandering to the brutal, backwards and oppressive Iranian leadership.
While Gary Bauer reports that his foreign policy experts in DC and Israel are using adjectives like "bizarre," "inexplicable," "counterproductive," and "outrageous" to describe President Obama's diplomatic jihad against Israel; Obama's behavior is entirely consistent with his anti-Semitic history.
