A memorial service is planned this week for 77-year-old Richard Antoun, the Binghamton University anthropology professor who was fatally stabbed in his office in December.
The service is scheduled for 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Friday in Binghamton University's Anderson Center Chamber Hall.
Ryan Yarosh, university spokesman, said the event will honor Antoun's academic contributions to the campus, region and beyond. Antoun's family and friends, along with staff members, will speak at the memorial.
Graduate student Abdulsalam Al-Zahrani was charged with second degree murder in Antoun's stabbing.
