Khalidi Video [on Rashid Khalidi]

John McCain and Sarah Palin have accused The Los Angeles Times of protecting Barack Obama by withholding a video of the Democrat attending a 2003 party with a Palestinian-American professor and critic of Israel.

They said Rashid Khalidi was once a Palestine Liberation Organization spokesperson, a characterization Khalidi has denied.

In a story published last April, The Times said Obama spoke out at the event, a party for Khalidi, on the need for common ground on the Israel-Palestinian issue. Obama has said during the campaign his commitment to Israel’s security is “non-negotiable.”

The paper said it would not release the tape because of a promise made to the source who provided it.
