PHILADELPHIA – October 28, 2022 – The Middle East Forum is pleased to announce that Mr. Naser Khader, a Danish politician, academic and author, will be joining the Forum as a writing fellow. Of Syrian-Palestinian origins, he has emerged in recent years as a prominent defender of free speech and critic of Islamism in his country.
Mr. Khader has been a member of the Danish parliament since 2001 (with a break in the years 2011-15) and chaired its Defense Committee during 2016-21. He focuses on matters related to foreign policy, defense, terrorism, extremism, immigration and Muslims in the West, as well as the persecution of Christians and Jews in the West and in the Muslim world.
Mr. Khader is the author of nine books, including Hjertet Bløder om Det Arabiske Forår (The Heart Bleeds about the Arab Spring, 2015), and Bekendelser fra en kulturkristen muslim (Confessions of a Cultural Muslim, 2013).
Commenting on the new appointment, MEF President Daniel Pipes said, "We welcome Naser Khader to the Middle East Forum and look forward to his adding an important Scandinavian focus to MEF's coverage of immigration, Islamism, and integration in Europe."
The Middle East Forum promotes American interests in the region and protects Western civilization from Islamism. It does so through a combination of original ideas, focused activism, and the funding of allies.
