The US-Israel alliance has long enjoyed bipartisan support. However, with the rise of the Islamist-left alliance within the Democratic Party, a shift toward anti-Israel sentiments has taken place. The ascent of Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib and their explicit support for both anti-Israel legislation and the BDS movement, as well as Omar's deployment of antisemitic stereotypes, has made Israel a wedge issue between moderate and progressive Democrats, not to speak of Democrats and Republicans. All indications suggest these differences will continue to grow.
