There is agreement among President Biden’s leading law enforcement officials that the United States faces a greatly elevated threat of a terror attack. MEF Chief Editor Jim Hanson spoke with FOX News about these assessments.
Attorney General Merrick Garland admitted this in testimony to the House Judiciary Committee:
“I am worried about the possibility of a terrorist attack in the country after October 7. The threat level for us has gone up enormously,” he testified.
“hard-pressed to think of a time where so many threats to our public safety and national security were so elevated all at once ... we’ve seen a rogues gallery of foreign terrorist organizations call for attacks against Americans and our allies increasingly concerning is the potential for a coordinated attack here in the homeland”
Since the beginning of 2023 more than 1,000 people on the Terror Watchlist have come into contact with U.S. Customs and Border Patrol agents.
That doesn’t even begin to count the large number who avoided contact completely as Hanson explained:
“The first thing the Biden administration did was open our southern border to anybody who wanted to waltz across it. Any terrorist group right now that didn’t take advantage of that would be malfeasant in their activities. We gave them a green light and now we have to operate on the assumption that there are terrorist cells in the United States.”
There have been more than 500 terrorism-related cases charged in the U.S. since 9/11.
There have been several dozen jihadist terror attacks in the U.S. since 2001. The most deadly were: MAJ Nidal Hasan fatally shooting 13 fellow soldiers and injuring more than 30 others in 2009; the Boston Marathon bombing, which killed 5 and injured 281 in 2013; the San Bernardino holiday party attack, where 16 were killed and 24 wounded in 2015; and the PULSE nightclub attack with 49 killed and 53 wounded.
There have been no multiple casualty attacks in the past five years. This is good news, but hardly cause to relax as Garland and Wray pointed out. Iran launched its proxies and clients to light the Middle East on fire including Hamas, Hezbollah, Houthis, and militias in Iraq and Syria. ISIS is still operational and al Qaeda is reconstituting in Afghanistan.
The anti-Israel, pro-Hamas mobs here in the United States have been actively obstructing the use of vital infrastructure like highways and airports. This shows a network that is sympathetic to terrorists already exists and is willing to conduct operations to further their cause. U.S. security agencies should be investigating these groups and all other known terror organizations actively in light of these new dangers.
Brian Kilmeade of FOX also asked about the implication that Prime Minister Netanyahu was extending the war to help his own political prospects when President Biden said “There’s every reason for people to draw that conclusion.”
Hanson answered:
“It was an obscene thing to say about the leader of a US ally. I mean the Biden Administration has the mistaken notion that somehow Israel is the problem, the Palestinians are the victims and Iran is the solution and that’s just madness.”

BK: Attorney General Merrick Garland and FBI Director Christopher Wray warning lawmakers about the mounting threat on US soil watch:
Garland: “I am worried about the possibility of a terrorist attack in the country after October seventh the threat level for us has gone up enormously.”
Wray: “We’ve seen a rogues gallery of foreign terrorist organizations call for attacks against Americans and our allies increasingly concerning is the potential for a coordinated attack here in the homeland not unlike the ISIS-K attack we saw at the Russia concert hall back in Marc.
BK: Not good news. Here to discuss is Chief Editor of the Middle East Forum who served in the US Army Special Forces Jim Hanson. Jim your thoughts about our terror watch list right now out and about and who’s not on it which would worry us all more.
JH: Well I guess it’s nice of these guys to wake up to the fact that the first thing the Biden Administration did was open our southern border to anybody who wanted to waltz across it. Any terrorist group right now that didn’t take advantage of that would be malfeasant in their activities. We gave them a green light and now we have to operate on the assumption that there are terrorist cells in the United States and i think that’s something that the Biden Administration bears direct responsibility for.
BK: Things stood out to me is number one he’s admitting the border being broken puts us all in danger because he said he likes to stay away from blaming the administration but he should and he says there’s less and less sources of information to inform people about who’s coming overseas and what is happening that’s part of the negativity of the way we left Afghanistan.
What really struck me yesterday is what’s happening in the Middle East and the President ‘s comment in Time magazine about Benjamin Netanyahu. He inferred or implied that Netanyahu is behind some of the most despicable acts you can imagine staying in power extending a war to stay in power when asked by Time if Netanyahu is prolonging the war for his own political reasons Biden admits “There’s every reason for people to draw that conclusion”. What a horrible thing to say about somebody if anyone ‘s slowing down the war is President Biden with his weapons and the refusal to allow him to go full force into Rafah
JH: It was an obscene thing to say about the leader of a US ally. I mean the Biden Administration has the mistaken notion that somehow Israel is the problem, the Palestinians are the victims and Iran is the solution and that’s just madness
They are the ones who have caused these problems. They should have backed Israel ‘s play from the beginning. Hamas needs to be removed as any type of a factor if there is ever going to be peace in Gaza
BK: Of any kind and to say that about a guy that’s going to be visiting here in a week or two to address a joint session of Congress while claiming to be his best friend is just insane.
