The City Council in the Spanish city of Jumilla has banned the use of municipal facilities for religious and cultural activities "alien" to the city's identity. The passage of the ban coincided with anti-immigrant protests that erupted in response to the assault of a sixty-eight-year-old many by three men from Morocco in the nearby city of Torre Pacheco.
