“Inside Hezbollah’s Tunnel Network” with Sarit Zehavi

Hezbollah’s extensive tunnel network remains one of the most difficult threats facing Israel along its northern border. How extensive is this underground infrastructure, what military purposes does it serve, and how has the threat evolved since the current conflict began? Sarit Zehavi, president and founder of the Alma Research and Education Center, joins the Middle East Forum Podcast to examine Hezbollah’s tunnel strategy, the broader security situation in Lebanon, and the challenges Israel faces on its northern front.

Sarit Zehavi is the founder and president of the Alma Research and Education Center. She served for 15 years in the Israel Defense Forces’ Intelligence Corps, working in research and analysis and later with the Northern Command. Zehavi holds an M.A. in Middle East Studies from Ben-Gurion University and regularly briefs policymakers and public audiences on security developments in Lebanon and Syria and the threats facing Israel.
