Unsurprisingly, given how the war between Israel and Iran has captured global media attention, the Islamic State has decided to comment on the matter in its latest editorial in its weekly al-Naba’ newsletter. For those familiar with Islamic State discourse, the line taken is hardly surprising.
In summary, the Islamic State frames the conflict as one between two sides of disbelievers- the ‘Rafidites’ (Shi‘a, considered by Islamic State as ‘apostates’ from Islam) and the Jews- who are mortal enemies of Islam. That Iran might kill Jews in this conflict does not make them allies of Islam and Muslims. The editorial lambasts those who fail to realise this point, criticising what it sees as a tendency among too many to put the Palestinian national cause before Islam as a criterion for judging Iran and the Iranian-backed ‘resistance’ axis, whose ‘arms’ in Lebanon (i.e. Hezbollah) and Syria (i.e. the Assad regime) were abandoned by Iran in what is portrayed by the group as betrayal and abandonment in favour of Iranian national interests.
The group reiterates its consistent call for Muslims to target Jews around the world and not just in Israel.
In the editorial’s telling, the Jews (and the ‘Crusaders’ of Europe and America whom they supposedly exert control over) and the ‘Rafidites’ were allied in waging war on Islam (i.e. the Islamic State) in Iraq and Syria, but now that they are fighting each other, the Muslims should recognise that they should not support either side but hope they inflict maximum damage on each other, while exploiting the chaotic vacuum to mobilise and wage jihad against both sides. In this regard, the group reiterates its consistent call for Muslims to target Jews around the world and not just in Israel.
Below is the editorial fully translated by me.
The Persian state and the Jews’ state
Throughout history, the flare up of wars between the ranks of the people of falsehood worked in the interest of the truth, and the Muslims realised this and rejoiced in it and took glad tidings from it, because supporting the truth was their objective and intention and indeed the pivotal point of their life, for their life and death were for God and in the path of God.
But in our present age, people have been deprived of guidance, and thus their stances have changed, their intentions have altered and their balances have been disturbed, and they no longer see truth as truth and falsehood as falsehood, just as the truth is no longer their objective and the pivotal point of their life. Rather, they have put many ethnic and nationalist objectives and intentions before it, and among the results of that: the support we see today among many for the Iranian Rafidite axis under the pretext of their fighting the Jews and support for Palestine.
The fact that many people stand behind the Rafidite camp and feel pain for its pain and sadness for what afflicts it is the result of deviation from the creed of Tawhid and converging with falsehood on its paths and merging into its camps. For these people have deemed the Rafidites Muslims, joined their axes and believed their promises to defend Palestine, whereas the Jewish-Iranian war in its three rounds has proven that Iran has proceeded in its military responses from the basis of its own interest, for its false promises on three occasions have come in response to the killing of its leaders and striking of its assets, and neither Jerusalem nor Gaza had a share in them.
When we look more closely at the reality of Iran’s followers, we find that these people’s sanctification of the Iranian axis is the result of their sanctification of the Palestinian cause and placing it above the place of Islam and not in subordination to it. For when the balance of Islam has vanished from the life of these people and they have discarded the Shari‘a of God behind their backs, they have adopted other criteria for ruling on things, and a part of this is that they have made the cause of Palestine a balance and standard for approving of individuals and groups, regardless of their religion or programs. And through this the Jahili nationalist standard, the Rafidites have won the loyalty and support of these followers.
This is the reality that grips the scene of the Jewish-Rafidite conflict today, and it is the same reality that has gripped the Palestinian cause since the first bullet fired therein. Thus you don’t find one person killed in the Palestinian cause who has not obtained the rank of martyr: for them in this regard, the Muslim, apostate and disbeliever are equal, even if the person was from the ‘Japanese Red Army’, upon the graves of whose soldiers in south Lebanon they wrote ‘martyrs.’
When we look more closely at the reality of Iran’s followers, we find that these people’s sanctification of the Iranian axis is the result of their sanctification of the Palestinian cause and placing it above the place of Islam and not in subordination to it.
As for those whose insight has been lit up by God and thus He has made them see truth as truth and falsehood as falsehood, they see God Almighty’s arrangement for His allies and His scheme against His enemies in the killing of the leaders of the Iranian Persians who led the war against the Muslims in Iraq and al-Sham in alliance with the Crusader Romans. Then the tables turned against them after they transgressed the limits of the international threshold, and thus they have ended up being killed by the same American aircraft that previously constitute aircover for their armies in Mosul and elsewhere, and the requital comes from the type of deed.
The exact characterisation for the ongoing war between the Jews and the Rafidites is a conflict between two projects competing in waging war on Islam: the project of the greater state of the Jews and the project of the greater Persian state: both of them are driven by their ambitions and resentments in invading our land and defiling our holy sites. It is no surprise, for the two sites are mortal enemies of Islam, and their records teem with that both in the past and now.
No one has the right to make us choose between the camp of the Jews and the camp of the Rafidites, for they are the same and one cannot prefer one over the other. The Muslim has no choice but to completely align with the camp of Islam, with its foundations being Tawhid and jihad. Our joy in the infighting of the Jews and the Rafidites and their mutual losses in this war is a legitimate joy in the harm being done to two principal enemies of Islam. One of them is worse in disbelief and the second is a greater danger, and there is no greater evidence for what great danger the Rafidites pose than the fact that many of the people of the qibla have been deceived by Iran and its axis, whereas you don’t find this deception and alignment with the disbelieving Jews.
Even if Iran were to kill thousands of the Jews, that does not make them a supporter and ally of the Muslims, because Iran is a disbelieving Rafidite state, waging war on us and thirsty for our blood, hostile to the companions of our Prophet (SAWS). So how have they differed from the disbelieving Jews?! The Muslims should realise that those who aligned with America in invading our lands in Iraq and al-Sham will not liberate Palestine for them. And those who betrayed and forsook their collaborationist arms in Lebanon, Syria and Gaza in deference to their Persian nationalist interests will be even worse in their betrayal and forsaking of others besides them.
With regards to the field of operations, the Muslims must hurry to exploit the chaos resulting from these wars by intensifying the jihad on all levels, in helping, providing assistance, preparation, enlistment, recruitment and arming, while being on guard against squandering the opportunity, because the cosmic laws do not show partiality, and victory does not come through wishful thinking. So take up the reasons, understand them, and put reliance on God, for if you don’t take the initiative, your enemy will do so.
These wars and conflicts between the ranks of the Jews, Rafidites and Crusaders will not stop at all, for the safe spaces they sought to preserve among themselves have disappeared, and the round of confrontations between them has begun. For their relations have become disturbed and their alliances have faltered, and a great portion of their wars have moved into their own camps after they were all taking a heavy toll on the Muslims’ abode, and this is a good thing that a Muslim does not dispute.
On the international level, the Tawaghit of Britain, France and Spain and with them America have affirmed the right of the Jews to defend themselves. This has come after a wave of delusions that spoke about ‘a rift between Israel and Europe’ because of the Gaza war! Those decisions were not believed and taken seriously except by the ‘simpletons of the Ikhwan’ who are followers of Iran.
This prompts us to remind the readers of what we previously discussed since the first hours of the bloody war on Gaza, in that those who lead America and Europe are the Jews and not the other way round.
For what has happened in terms of Europe and America’s alignment behind the Jews in their war confirms the escalation of the Jews’ control of the international scene, especially after they brought down Iran’s ‘arms’ in Lebanon, Gaza and Syria, reaching ‘its heads’ in Tehran and its nuclear program’ that the Jews have put on the list of their targets since its establishment, and have penetrated to its very core. They have chosen the appropriate time to neutralise it and strike it in the hidden places where its strength lies, as though it were established under their watchful eyes!
All that happened confirms the continuation of the Jews’ supremacy and their monopolisation of control, and their surpassing of America and Europe that can only submit to them willingly or unwillingly, whether the Jews are ruled by Netanyahu or any wretch besides him. This prompts us to remind the readers of what we previously discussed since the first hours of the bloody war on Gaza, in that those who lead America and Europe are the Jews and not the other way round. This is through the economic, media and other ‘lobbies’, and this suits the realistic Shari‘i suggestion on the obligation of fighting the Jews wherever they are and not only inside Palestine, because their presence in Palestine is the result of their efforts and activities outside it. The one who does not realise it has gone astray in the path to al-Quds.
To get back to the point: the Jews and Rafidites are disbelievers, enemies of the Muslims. They allied and conspired along with the Crusaders in waging war on us yesterday, and today God has caused dissension between their hearts and schemed against them, and thus the war between them has flared up, and in so far as the war between the two sides intensifies, the Muslims gain and profit, but this doesn’t exempt them from intensely striving to take up the causes of force that enable them to confront the coming ascendancy of the Jews and the chronic hatred of the Rafidites, and God surely supports the one who supports Him.
