Woman Wearing Burqa Steals Bulldog Puppies

A pair of French Bulldog puppies were stolen from two Petland stores around Columbus Sunday.

Employees at the store located at the Carriage Place shopping center said a woman wearing a black burqa with a tattoo on her asked to see a dog.

Surveillance cameras recorded the woman placing 15-week-old “Nemo” in a bag and leaving the store, staff said.

Employees at the Pickerington Petland reported a woman with a similar description stole three-month-old “Marcus” on the same day.

The pet store chain has notified police, according to a news release.

The dogs are implanted with microchips and lost pet alerts have issued by petkey.org, which is a national microchip registry service, spokesman Mike Donovan said.

“Alerts were sent out to the pet community within a 25 mile radius of the stores,” Donovan said.

Anyone with information regarding the puppies whereabouts is urged to call police.
