A group of parents of children at Derby free school Al-Madinah have written to the Department for Education urging them give proposals on the way forward “due and proper consideration.”
Tomorrow is schools minister Lord Nash’s deadline for an action plan to be submitted to him about the future direction of the school.
Following an Ofsted inspection at the start of October the school, which has 412 pupils, was said to be “dysfunctional,” “inadequate” and “in chaos.”
But concerned people have formed the Parents of Al-Madinah School and this afternoon read out a statement on its steps.
It said: “The interim principal and members of the governing body of the school have had meetings with parents and addressed questions and concerns in a clear and direct manner with a transparent plan of improvements already under way.
“They also shared outlined proposals of restructuring the management team and outlined the credentials and experience of the proposed governng team.
“We the parents strongly request that you (Lord Nash and the Department for Education) give this proposal due and proper consideration.”
