Attorney Alan Dershowitz called on all Democrats to condemn anti-Semitic Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, arguing he should be treated the same as white supremacist David Duke.
Several African-American House Democrats have past ties to Farrakhan, including DNC vice chair Rep. Keith Ellison, who attended a dinner with Farrakhan in 2013 hosted by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani. Farrakhan said Ellison met with him as recently as 2015, though Ellison has sought to distance himself in recent years.
Dershowitz said Ellison must be fired from the leadership position, accusing the lawmaker of lying about his previous connections to the controversial minister.
The renewed focus on Democrats and Farrakhan came after he gave a speech declaring that “powerful Jews are my enemy” and “white folks are going down.”
