CAIR-Linked Hamas Official Calls for Revolt Against Israel

CAIR won’t be so foolish as to openly endorse this call to war. Instead, they will condemn Israel and portray Hamas as the victim.

Senior Hamas official Moussa Abu Marzouk says a new intifada against Israel is beginning. Marzouk used to lead the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood‘s Palestine Committee, a secret structure designed to support the Hamas agenda. The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) is an entity of Marzouk’s previous organization.

“We are facing a political failure for the Palestinian Authority and the beginning of a new popular intifada against Israel,” he stated on Facebook.

The statement came shortly after Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad announced an agreement for a “joint command.” The Palestinian Islamic Jihad recently held an event where hundreds of supporters demanded a new intifada.

At the same time, Hamas, Hezbollah and the Iranian regime have agreed to ally into an “axis of resistance” following meetings in Tehran and Beirut. The relationship between Hamas and Iran/Hezbollah had broken because they are fighting on opposite sides in Syria.

The move towards violent hostilities with Israel may be linked to Hamas’s fear over planned protests on November 11. Opponents of Hamas are hoping to topple its regime in the Gaza Strip as similar demonstrations removed Egyptian President Morsi from power. The Islamist party ruling Tunisia then agreed to step down.

Marzouk led the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood’s Palestine Committee until he left America in 1992. The federal government says that the now-defunct Islamic Association for Palestine was part of the Palestine Committee. Marzouk sat on its board of directors.

CAIR was founded in 1994 by officials from the Islamic Association for Palestine. One CAIR founder, Omar Ahmad, is listed by federal prosecutors as a member of the Palestine Committee. The government declares CAIR itself to be an “entity” of the Committee.

Marzouk is also linked to the Islamic Society of North America and the North American Islamic Trust, two U.S. Muslim Brotherhood entities. A 2009 ruling confirmed that the Holy Land Foundation transferred hundreds of thousands of dollars to Marzouk and other Hamas leaders using a joint ISNA/NAIT account.

Don’t expect CAIR to be so foolish as to openly endorse Marzouk’s call to war. Instead, if war happens, expect CAIR and other U.S. Muslim Brotherhood entities to passionately condemn Israel and portray Hamas as the victim.
