It might be one of the most short-lived promotions in NSW political history.

On Wednesday Patricia Shields, a loyal Liberal Party servant from Dubbo, was elected to the party's NSW Women's Council. Two days later she was gone, not just from that position of country vice president, but the party too.

Her resignation came after Fairfax Media enquired about seemingly anti-Muslim and far right material posted to her Facebook page.
