Anti-Islam protesters have threatened to return to Bendigo this month as part of a sustained campaign to stop the regional city's first mosque being built.
It follows ugly scenes on Saturday when hundreds of anti-Islam protesters and left-wing counter demonstrators faced off outside Bendigo town hall, culminating in an Australian flag being burnt in the street.
The rally, organised by far right-group and Reclaim Australia offshoot, United Patriots Front, was in response to a Victorian planning tribunal decision that ruled construction of the controversial mosque would go ahead.
