Welby: let's not get 'hysterical' about Islamic radicalisation Archbishop of Canterbury plays down threat from Muslim youths travelling to Middle East and returning radicalised, warning against a 'national culture of fear'
People should stop being so "hysterical" about the threat from Islamic radicalisation in Britain, the Archbishop of Canterbury has insisted.
The Most Rev Justin Welby, said there is a problem with young Muslim youths travelling to Syria and elsewhere to wage jihad but the numbers were "extraordinarily small".
He warned against allowing a "national culture of fear" to spring up because of the actions of a tiny minority of Muslims.
