Excerpt:
For millions of ordinary Britons, Wootton Bassett has become a symbol of national pride in the bravery of our service personnel, and of national grief, for the loss of so many young lives.
It is a testament to human decency which, until now, has transcended political or religious beliefs.
Now, one man wishes to desecrate that solemn symbol in a vile and outrageous bid for publicity.
Anjem Choudary's plan to parade empty coffins through Wootton Bassett, as part of a campaign to highlight the supposed 'persecution' of Muslims by British troops in Afghanistan and Iraq, is deliberately provocative and unspeakably callous.
As a British Muslim myself, I am appalled by his tactics. Appalled, but not surprised. For this is a man whose ideology is as poisonous as it is illogical.
