A 77-year-old man who was attacked and tied up in his home by two raiders disguised in burkas has spoken publicly about his ordeal for the first time.
The man suffered a broken hand and a number of broken ribs when the intruders attacked him with a hammer in his home in Leicester earlier this year.
The men, both of whom were wearing the Islamic robes, called at the front door and pushed the victim back inside when he opened it.
They assaulted him, tied him up and stole a safe containing cash, watches and personal belongings and loaded it into a waiting vehicle.
