The Second U.S. Court of Appeals ruled that the founding principal of an Arabic-themed public school—Brooklyn’s Khalil Gibran International Academy—could not get her job back while waiting for her case to be resolved. Debbie Almontaser was pressured to step down as principal in August 2007 after being criticized for comments that appeared to condone “Intifada NYC” t-shirts.
