A Montreal CEGEP has abruptly suspended a contract with an Arabic language school to use space on its campus.
Rosemont College severed its agreement with the El Forkane language school after finding links to radical material on the language school’s website which reportedly said Islam is not compatible with secular education.
The language school’s co-founder, Ahmed Said Rahmaoui, maintains Rosement College has the wrong idea of his school.
In an interview with QMI Agency he said the CEGEP’s belief his school is encouraging people to leave the public system “is not true [....] That is lying.”
He says he is an advocate for secular education, adding that the documents on its website are often thousands of pages and, at times, are not properly vetted.
The contentious materials have since been removed.
