Rejecting a Review as One-Sided [on Sara Roy of Harvard]

Over at Deja Vu, one of the history blogs at HNN, Daniel Mandel, an Australian scholar, takes on Sara Roy, a senior scholar at Harvard’s Center for Middle Eastern Studies. Roy had complained that Tufts University’s Fletcher Forum of World Affairs had rejected her book review of Matthew Levitt’s Hamas: Politics, Charity, and Terrorism in the Service of Jihad as too one-sided in its treatment of Hamas.

Mandel took a look at the review — which you can read here, along with Roy’s description of her editorial discussions with Tufts — and decided Roy was too sympathetic to Hamas, and the Forum’s editors were right.
