A Superior Court judge said he will decide Friday whether accused terrorist bomber Hassan Diab will be allowed to remove his electronic monitoring bracelet.
Justice Robert Maranger has heard arguments Wednesday and Thursday about whether the 56-year-old university professor accused of killing four in a 1980 Paris synagogue bombing should have his bail conditions relaxed. He’s wanted by France and is awaiting a full extradition hearing.
The lawyer for Diab has argued that the often delayed proceedings have left Diab with a $2,500 monthly surveillance bill, plus the $9,000 deposit for the equipment.
Justice Department lawyers argue that Diab remains a flight risk and oppose the request.
