Israel-Bashing Columbia Prof Hamid Dabashi Equates the Jewish State with ISIS

Columbia University professor Hamid Dabashi has become known for producing a steady stream of anti-Israel, anti-Semitic rants. In his latest outburst---a since-deleted Facebook post, a version of which remains on Twitter---Dabashi equates Israel with ISIS, alleging that the only difference are the “Zionists [sic] columnists . . . propagating the cause of the terrorist outfit.” Meanwhile, last month, he labeled “Zionists the beneficiaries of anti-Semitism.”

But Dabashi’s hatred for Israel is best summed up by a March 2018 statement blaming the Jewish state for every “dirty, treacherous, ugly, and pernicious act happening in the world.” What more is there to say, except that Dabashi exemplifies the worst of Middle East studies?
